Fly direct from Bali to Labuan Bajo for Komodo, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Raja Ampat has no direct flight: fly to Sorong (SOQ) via Makassar or Jakarta, then about 2–3 hours by boat to Waisai (the public ferry takes around 2 hours).

Komodo is driest from April to November, peaking June to September. Raja Ampat is calmest from October to April, with its best visibility then and manta rays from December to March. We order your route around both seasons.

Komodo, yes — there is a direct flight to Labuan Bajo. Raja Ampat, no: the journey via Sorong is too long, so plan at least a few nights there.

Usually a liveaboard in Komodo and Raja Ampat, with hotel or villa nights in Bali. Raja Ampat also has eco-resorts and homestays if you prefer to sleep on land.

Meals are normally included on liveaboard segments, mixing local and international dishes. Vegetarian and vegan menus are possible — tell us in advance.

No. Snorkelling needs none, and introductory dives are possible. Certified divers can dive several times a day, including night dives, and some trips offer certification courses.

Snorkel gear is often included on liveaboards — we confirm it for your boat. You are welcome to bring your own dive equipment.

Komodo's strong currents draw large pelagics and manta rays. Raja Ampat is famous for coral diversity, soft corals and huge schools of fish.

Limited on liveaboards and in remote areas. A local Telkomsel SIM usually gives the best coverage, but expect gaps around Raja Ampat.

Light, breathable clothes, swimwear, a hat, sturdy shoes, sun protection, insect repellent, your medications and a waterproof bag. Expect some rain in Raja Ampat.

Dress modestly: cover shoulders and knees when visiting villages and temples, out of respect for local customs.

Ask before photographing people or ceremonies. Drones usually need permits, especially in national parks, so check the rules before you fly.

Cards work in larger towns, but carry cash for Raja Ampat and the remote islands. Domestic flights usually allow 15–20 kg of checked baggage.
